How Long Does a Jar of Shilajit Resin Last?
It's a fair question before you buy anything. How long will it actually last, and what does that work out at per day?
Short answer: a 30g jar of our resin holds about 60 servings. At one serving a day, that's about two months, or roughly 50p a day. Buy more jars at once and the cost per day drops to as little as 33p.
Here's how that works, plus how to measure a serving, how to make your jar last, and which bundle makes sense for you. Or go straight to our Himalayan shilajit resin.
How many servings are in a 30g jar?
About 60.
A serving of shilajit resin is a pea-sized amount, about 500mg. There are 1,000mg in a gram, so a 30g jar has 30,000mg of resin in it. Divide that by 500mg and you get 60 servings.
It sounds like a small jar. But shilajit is taken in small amounts, so it goes a long way.
How long does a jar last?
It depends on how often you take it:
- One serving a day: about 2 months
- Five days a week: about 3 months
- Two of you sharing a jar, one serving each a day: about 1 month
Whatever you do, stick to the amount on the label and don't go over it.
How much does shilajit cost per day?
This is where bundles make a real difference. Here's every option, worked out at one serving a day:
| Option | Price | Price per jar | Servings | Lasts about | Cost per day |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 jar (30g) | £29.99 | £29.99 | 60 | 2 months | 50p |
| 2 jars (60g) | £49.99 | £25.00 | 120 | 4 months | 42p |
| 3 jars (90g) | £69.99 | £23.33 | 180 | 6 months | 39p |
| 4 jars (120g) | £79.99 | £20.00 | 240 | 8 months | 33p |
Compared with buying single jars one at a time, you save:
- £9.99 on 2 jars
- £19.98 on 3 jars
- £39.97 on 4 jars
The 4 jar bundle works out at a third less per day than a single jar. You can pick 1, 2 or 3 jars on the 30g resin page, and the 4 jar option is on the 120g resin page. Delivery is free on UK orders over £20, so every option ships free to UK addresses.
Which bundle should I buy?
Here's a simple way to think about it:
- 1 jar if you're trying shilajit for the first time and want to see how you get on with the taste and the routine.
- 2 jars if you know you'll take it most days. Four months means you're not reordering every few weeks.
- 3 jars if you're settled into it and want six months sorted.
- 4 jars if you want the lowest cost per day, or there are two of you taking it. Four months each for a couple, or eight months for one.
If you buy a few jars, keep the spare ones sealed in a cupboard, out of direct sunlight, until you need them.
How to measure a pea-sized serving
Use a small spoon. Scoop out an amount about the size of a garden pea. If the resin is firm, warm the spoon under the hot tap first and it'll come out more easily.
Some people like to start smaller in the first week, about the size of a grain of rice, and build up. That makes your first jar last a little longer too.
Then stir it into something warm: water, tea, coffee or warm milk with honey. Our guide to taking shilajit every day has seven easy ways to have it.
How to make your jar last
- Measure, don't guess. Big scoops make a jar run out early.
- Keep the lid on tight. It stops the resin drying out or picking up moisture.
- Store it at room temperature, out of direct sunlight. A kitchen cupboard is ideal.
- Don't put it in the fridge. It goes rock hard and is a pain to scoop.
- Use a clean, dry spoon. Water in the jar changes the texture.
- Note the date you open it. It helps you see how long a jar actually lasts you, and when to reorder.
Why our jars last: quality per serving
Cost per day only means something if each serving is the real thing. Our resin is harvested above 16,000ft in the Nepal Himalayas, sun dried and packed in amber glass. Every batch is tested by Huson and Hardwick (Alex Stewart Agriculture), an ISO 17025 accredited lab in Liverpool.
Our February 2026 batch came back at 73.8% fulvic acid and 88.5% total humic substances, with heavy metals within limits and no E. coli, salmonella or pesticides detected. See the Lab Results page or the full certificate (PDF).
